Antisipasi Kasus Covid-19 Meningkat, Rektor UMI Perpanjang Penutupan Kampus

Makassar, CakrawalaIde.com – Rektor Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI), Basri Modding kembali mengeluarkan surat edaran (SE) demi mengantisipasi pandemi corona virus diseases 2019 (COVID-19), terhitung sejak 31 Maret hingga 26 April 2020.
Sebelumnya diketahui, SE pertama tertanggal 16 Maret 2020 sebagai tindakan penanggulangan penyebaran virus.
Wakil Rektor III UMI bidang Kemahasiswaan, Prof. Laode Husein menjelaskan bahwa perpanjangan penutupan kampus ini bukan semata kemauan dari pimpinan saja, tetapi mempertimbangkan dinamika dan pembacaan situasi di masyarakat.
“Sesuai dinamika masyarakat dan fenomena yang ada sekarang ini, makanya UMI harus merespons itu, bukan maunya UMI,” ujarnya via telfon.

Menurut Nurhaliza, mahasiswi jurusan Teknik Industri, setuju akan perpanjangan penutupan kampus karena sebagai salah satu pencegahan dan untuk memutuskan rantai penyebaran virus corona.
“Mengenai perpanjangan penutupan kampus. Yah, lebih baik mencegah. Melihat situasi saat ini mungkin saya setuju untuk memutus rantai virus corona ini. Cause, menurutku jika kampus telah dibuka. Namun wabah Covid19 ini masih belum reda, lalu akan banyak interaksi massal terjadi di kampus dan kalau sampai ada satu orang saja yang terinfeksi lantas masuk ke kampus apa yang akan terjadi? Pasti penimbunan bakalan terjadi!” tutur Liza sapaan akrabnya melalui grup whatsapp.
Pun di sisi lain menanggapi adanya edaran ini, sejumlah mahasiswa merasa diberatkan karena sistem pembelajaran online dari dosen dianggap sangat tidak efektif bagi para mahasiswa selama ini.
Muh. Rizal Mantovani, menjelaskan bahwa selama adanya kuliah daring ini, ia terkendala oleh beberapa hal, salah satunya kuota internet.
“Perkuliahan online sangat tidak efektif dikarenakan tidak semua mahasiswa mampu membeli kouta banyak, jaringan juga tetiba baik juga buruk, ada pula setiap pertemuan tugasnya ada dan dikumpul itu hari juga. Dosen yang biasa sudah waktunya jam tidur, baru ada kabar. Jadi saya mohon untuk pihak kampus agar kiranya bsa mengerti dengan para mahasiswanya bapak/ibu,” imbuh Mahasiswa Hukum UMI tersebut melalui telepon whatsapp.
Berdasarkan laporan data media harian Covid-19 tertanggal 30 Maret 2020, 12.00 WIB, dimana Provinsi Sulsel berada di posisi ke enam, yakni sebanyak 50 kasus positif. Jumlah kasus yang meninggal dunia terdapat 1 orang korban.
