Turnamen Tennis Meja Skala Sulawesi Akan Dihelat UKM PTM UMI

Makassar, Cakrawalaide.com – Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Persatuan Tenis Meja (PTM) Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) akan menghelat turnamen terbuka berskala regional Sulawesi.
Kegiatan tersebut bernama “UMI Open Table Tennis Championship” yang akan diselenggarakan pada pertengahan Maret 2020 ini.
Menurut Muhammad Rifki Rahsyanjani, selaku Ketua Umum UKM PTM UMI, mengenai pendaftaran peserta telah dibuka sejak 24 Februari hingga 16 Maret mendatang.
Ia juga menambahkan bahwa kegiatan ini didukung penuh oleh institusi, sehingga panitia penyelenggara diminta untuk benar-benar fokus dalam menyukseskannya.
“Jika pelaksanaan Open Table Tennis Championship ini sukses terlaksana, maka kita akan menjadi contoh bagi UKM lain yang ada di Sulawesi bahkan di Indonesia,” tambahnya.
Adapun kategori yang dilombakan tidak hanya bagi yang berasal dari kalangan mahasiswa saja, melainkan terdiri dari beberapa kategori mulai dari kadet, junior dan veteran.
“Kategori kadet adalah peserta usia 14 tahun ke bawah, junior adalah peserta 18 tahun ke bawah dan veteran adalah peserta 50 tahun ke atas,” jelas Rachmat Setyawan selaku ketua panitia.
Pendaftaran memang dibuka dengan berbagai kategori karena kegiatan ini bukan hanya sekedar turnamen melainkan juga sebagai ajang silaturrahmi kepada mahasiswa dan atlet tenis meja se-Sulawesi.
Hari ini sudah memasuki H-7, artinya kami selaku penyelenggara akan bekerja keras untuk menyukseskan kegiatan ini.
“Saya mengajak seluruh jajaran panitia Open Table Tennis Champion yang perdana ini untuk bekerja maksimal dan total. Sebab jika kita bekerja setengah – setengah maka acara tak akan suskes terlaksana,” tegasnya.
Apalagi lanjut ketua panitia pada hari pembukaan selasa 17 Maret 2020 mendatang di Auditorium Al-Jibra Kampus II UMI, bakal dihadiri oleh salah satu atlet senior tenis meja, yakni Yon Mardiono.
Selain itu, turnamen ini merupakan rangkaian dari milad UMI dan rencananya akan dibuka langsung oleh Rektor UMI, Basri Modding.
